EMS
In 1998 the Oregon Volunteer Ambulance Association choose to merge into the OVFA since that time we have strived represent the interest of Oregon's volunteer ambulance and EMS agencies in addition to the fire agencies we already were work with.
We accomplish this through offering EMS classes at our annual conference, special out reach classes (PHTLS, Farm Rescue) and by working with the Oregon legislator, Area Health Education Centers and the Office of Rural Health on funding issues for EMT training and continuing education. Members of our association sit on the EMT Advisory Council a sub committee of the Board of Medical Examiners as well as the State EMS Conference committee.
The OVFA is also a member of both the Oregon State Ambulance Association and the Oregon Fire Medical Administrators Association. (www.ofmaa.org) By our attendance at these association meetings we are able to represent your interest and keep abreast of funding issues for ambulance transports. We also participate in the EMS Award Committee for the Department of Human Services, EMS and Trauma Section.
